The city of Mosinee
Mosinee has a long and rich history dating from the days of the first French fur trappers, stretching through the logging days, and continuing forward into the future. Mosinee still retains a close tie with nature. The shores of the Wisconsin River are lined with trees and Mosinee Hill is easily visible in its forested glory. Central Wisconsin Airport (CWA) is located 2 miles southeast of the Mosinee central business district. The airport provides both scheduled commercial jet service and general aviation services and is the main airport in central Wisconsin for domestic flights.
Parks & Recreation
The City of Mosinee is very fortunate to have twelve beautiful neighborhood and community parks for our residents and visitors to enjoy! These parks host summer concert events, community sporting events, a canoe launch, boat landings, miles of trails along the Wisconsin River, picnic and child play areas, and a dog park.
Central Wisconsin Airport (CWA)
With nonstop flights to three major hubs (Chicago, Minneapolis and Detroit), Central Wisconsin Airport is your hometown airport with large airport amenities. It is served by two major airlines for domestic air travel, Delta Airlines(r) and American Airlines(r). The Blind Rooster Cafe & market offers food, drinks, snacks and gifts. They offer a fresh bakery case and a fully stocked bar in the concourse past security checkpoint. The airport is located 2 miles from the City of Mosinee city center, directly off Interstate 39 running North and South in Central Wisconsin.
Recreation Center Park
The 9-acre Mosinee Recreation Center Park provides unsurpassed community recreation facilities for residents of all ages and includes athletic sites and play areas. The large, enclosed event field is used for indoor ice-skating activities including hockey and free skating over the winter season and for church picnics and community gatherings in the summer. The park also includes the Mosinee Softball Field and a skateboard facility. The Mosinee Hockey Association has adopted the park. A jungle gym, merry-go-round, slide, picnic tables, swings , teeter-totter, drinking fountain, bicycle racks, bouncing ducks, two horseshoe pits, 4-seat bouncer, lighted softball field with bleachers, a concession area, and restrooms, and more make this by far the best go-to place for the family in the area!
