The Village of Rib Mountain is home to Granite Peak, the largest ski resort in the Midwest with more than 200 acres and more than 60 runs. The Legendary slopes of Granite Peak have been evolving since 1937 transforming Rib Mountain into Wisconsin's Largest Ski Area.
Granite Peak Ski Area is Wisconsin’s Largest and Most Legendary ski resort celebrating 85 years of skiing and riding in the state. While Granite Peak may be the oldest ski area in the state, its facilities don’t show it. With three modern high-speed lifts, including the only 6-pack in the state, skiing and riding at Granite Peak will get more time on the slopes and less time in line. Granite Peak offers 225 acres of terrain, including 55 trails, four terrain parks, and seven designated tree skiing areas, all serviced by five chairlifts and two conveyor belt carpets. The Sundance Chalet offers grab-and-go style food and beverage and a bar, while the cozy Historic Chalet offers sit down dining with live music on weekends. Located just minutes from the beautiful city of Wausau, Granite Peak has an authentic ski town atmosphere with lodging, restaurants, nightlife, and plenty of activities the entire family can enjoy.

Rib Mountain Drive is the largest retail center in Northcentral Wisconsin. The Village of Rib Mountain has affordable business taxes and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. There are hundreds of restaurants and retail outlets in the Rib Mountain area. It has convenient highway access to Hwy 39 going North and South and Hwy 29 going East and West.
